The Friends of the Rosendale Library are here to foster and encourage improved library services through wider public use, free access, facility improvement, and special programs. To that end we:

  • Establish closer relations between the Rosendale Library and the people it serves
  • Promote informed interest in the function, resources, services and needs of the library
  • Stimulate and receive gifts, endowments and bequests for the benefit of the Library
  • Support the development of a program for the extension and improvement of the services and resources of the Library.

Improving Access and Literacy

The Friends of the Rosendale Library are dedicated to improving library services through wider public use, free access, facility improvement, and special programs.

Eliminating Late Fees

The Friends of the Rosendale Library cover the fines associated with late and missing returns. We make sure that people who need the library the most can use it, while also increasing the return rate and usage of the library.

Born to Read:  Books for Babies

One of our favorite programs is the Books for Babies Gift Bags. If you know of a baby in our community, please ask for a bag at the front desk of the Rosendale Library.

Imagination Library

We are excited to join libraries and educational institutes across the nation in the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. The program is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five.

Little Free Library

The Friends of the Rosendale Library maintains a Little Free Library located at the Rosendale Community Center. Located on Route 32, this area hosts meeting spaces and recreational spaces including the town pool and playground, and is a great location for the library to reach families and seniors who utilize this space. We continue to explore our locations throughout the community.

Shop our Booktique!

The Friends of Rosendale Library offers a booktique shopping experience at the Rosendale Library. In the front vestibule of the library, find books, Born to Read Onesies (size 12m and 18m) and many knitted and quilted items for sale.

Please look for the Booktique sign the next time you visit the library. We thank you for your support!
