This program will be an onsite event at the Rosendale Library. If you are not able to make it in person you can still attend virtually on zoom.
Join Education Coordinator Joyce Raimondo to discover the innovative collages of three modern masters. Then tour the studio where Pollock and Krasner made abstract expressionist paintings and collages. While Pollock is best known for his drip painting technique, this program will present his experimental abstract collages. You’ll also examine Krasner’s monumental collages made by ripping, cutting, and gluing pieces of her former artworks to create new compositions, as well as the cut-outs of Matisse, who was an inspiration for Krasner.
SUPPLIES: Joyce will then demonstrate collage techniques as participants work alongside each other in person or on Zoom. Have supplies on hand for your project: scissors, glue, a surface for your art such as paper or canvas, and collage materials such as colored papers, magazines, or fabric scraps.
