Treasurerís Report-(attached at end of minutes) We finalized our Budget for 2014.The total budget for 2014 will be $6,265 (last year $6333).

Old Business- Frozendale-This year will made $217.Start putting away small gifts for next December.Book Discussion- Jan.26 the book was Finding Nouf we had a good crowd and we decided to have another book discussion on April 6.The book will be The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. The FRL will buy 10 copies to donate as a Book Club in a Bag kit.Newsletter- Our last printed newsletter ( Spring 2014) is at the printer. We hope to mail it out in the next week or so.Thanks to Carol Campion for her hard work for the last 7 years as newsletter editor.Unfortunately she is retiring from that position. The newsletter committee (Jo Ann, Carol and Ann) met and decided that Mail Chimp (free and other libraries are using it with good results) would be a good way to start up an eNewsletter for the FRL.Amy Cote was asked if she would like to spend an hour a month laying out an eNewsletter (Newsblast) but she is not available.Ann will call Mark Bernard and Sean Nixon to see if they can recommend someone. We decided that we would like to send out a newsblast of maybe 2 or 3 items monthly. This would include reminders of library programs and events. We discussed how to generate the email list of recipients. Some feel that we should use the all of the Rosendalepatrons in the Sierra (MHLS) program that have given us emails. Then patrons could unsubscribe at any time.

Others felt that we should stick with the 60 FRL emails and the ~240 emails on our Library Supporters Database because these people have agreed to give us their email address.Wendy is asking who will be the point person or editor for this eNewsletter? And when would the first eNewsletter go out?We will be gathering emails from the form in the recent Newsletter and we can have a sign at the library desk.We will put a link to the eNewsletter on the front page of the library website.Election of Officers- Jo Ann R. nominated Cindy E. for Pres., Ann S. for Sec. and Eileen Meltzer for VP. We voted them in unanimously.Library Advocacy Day in Albany-FRL will pay for anyone from our library who would like to go to Albany on Wed., Feb. 26 on the bus.If you canít go please go online and support library funding.Go to midhudson.org. FRL website- We are signed up as a receiving non-profit in Amazon Smile.Anytime you make a purchase on Amazon go first to smile.amazon.com and choose Friends of Rosendale Library as the group you support. We get 0.5% of your purchases.Ann will ask Amy C. to put this on the website. New member welcoming- We would eventually like to have one person who could welcome newcomers to our meetings and help them understand the issues. FRL membership brochure- We only have a few left and they need revision before we reprint.Toby E. and Eileen H. will look into this.FRL Scholarship- The 2014 applications are available at the desk and Barbara P. mailed them to Kingston, Rondout, New Paltz and Coleman High Schools. The deadline in April 11 and we will make the decision by May 9.We will ask Barbara P. to solicit prizes for the Annual Scholarship Raffle, can we have tickets available in April and draw the winner at the July Book Sale? Adopt and Author- Eileen M. brought up the idea that Rhinebeck library uses.A patron can pick a favorite author and whenever a new book comes out the library notifies the patron and they give a donation to pay for the new book. Then that patron gets to borrow the book first and when they are finished it is donated to the library.Eileen M. will contact Wendy to see if she would like to do this. Book Donations- Ron Whiteurs gave us the contact info for a friend of his in the publishing business who would like to donate books to the library.Ann S. will give the info to Wendy to pursue.
